Those who came before us fought long and hard for the Civil Rights that we now enjoy. That spirit is not dead; it is alive and well at Smith Patten, who fight every day to ensure that all people are treated equally under the law. Our leaders have not always agreed upon how to go about securing the blessings of liberty for all people regardless of race, creed, color, gender, age, disability or orientation. What we can agree on is that without strong and capable advocacy, our goals of equal treatment under the law will never be achieved. It falls to those who are willing to spend each day standing up for these principles to do the hard work of making good on the promises set forth in our Constitution.
